^Dude, fuckin' THANKS for that! You don't know how goddamn long I've been trying to get that (and a handful of other older SK books). In fact, on EZN, some other cat's posting text files saying, "REPOST STEPHEN KING, ASSHOLES" (to that effect).
!!
Had nightmares for weeks when I first watched Salems Lot as a kid.
Millions of dumbfounded dipshits.
Menthol or the regular version?
Millions of dumbfounded dipshits.
I think that was intentional, Beans. Jimmy Jenson used to be a regular poster here at SFJ.![]()

Thanks IAH, I was thinking maybe Steven King did a menthol version too.
Ok... since Palahniuk reads the story "Guts" from his book "Haunted" and had it published online on his website, I thought I'd pass the story along to whomever wants to hear 20 minutes of cringe-inducing hell.
Again, the set-up is this:
Writers go to a retreat to write their masterpieces and it turns bad. Each writer is given an apt pseudonym reflecting their character. "Guts" is the story by the amazingly skinny Saint Gut-free.
From Wikipedia
While on his 2003 tour to promote his novel Diary, Palahniuk read "Guts" to his audiences. It was reported that over 35 people fainted while listening to the readings. On his tour to promote Stranger Than Fiction: True Stories in the summer of 2004, he read the story to audiences again, bringing the total amount of fainters up to 53, and later up to 60, while on tour to promote the softcover edition of Diary. The last fainting occurred on May 28, 2007, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, where 5 people fainted, one of which occurred when a man was trying to leave the auditorium, which resulting in him falling and hitting his head on the door . Palahniuk is apparently not bothered by these incidents, which have not stopped fans from reading "Guts" or his other works.

I'm gonna do this book on self-help and self-worth. It's called, "What Are You Looking at, Fuckstick."

^^'Lasco turned me onto this book taDAY (it's on the torrents), and I dove right in, and though he (Lasco) does a perfect job laying down the warnings, this passage was only part of a *trilogy* of similarly hideous yarns (hideous, but fascinating). I hate to admit that I'm digging this thing righteously, as such. This book (so far, for me) *is* that car-wreck and aftermath everyone wants to secretly watch. Enjoy your calamari.![]()
