We'd planned to talk a lot more about some of our favourite podcasts on the Cutting Room Floor last night, but spent so much time slagging Hendrie off, we didn't get around to it.

We said we'd start a thread & post up some links. So please all feel free to join in.

Here's mine.

The Big 3 Podcast, of course
http://www.adamcarolla.com/B3Blog/category/podcast/

Collings & Herrin
http://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/collingsherrin/

Richard Herring's 'As It Occurs to Me' (written, performed & released in 48 hours or less)
http://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/as_it_occurs_to_me/

The Word
David Hepworth & Mark Ellen are two elder statesman of British music journalism, & now run The Word magazine. This is their podcast. Very often it contains nothing about music whatsoever. Those are the best ones.
http://www.wordmagazine.co.uk/podcast

The Robert Elms Podcast
From BBC London Radio. If you want to get a taste of London, have a listen to this. The latest podcast is about London pub names & 19th century murders, & features a really old lady with a speech impediment.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/elms

Kermode & Mayo's Film Reviews
http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/kermode

Junk Food Dinner (check out their sweet Alex Winter interview.)
http://www.junkfooddinner.com/

Yeah It's That Bad
My favourite non-Mark Kermode film podcast. These lads plough the same furrow as the SFJ Movie Club podcasts, but they stick to the format. Have a listen to them ripping the piss out of Armageddon on their latest podcast.
http://www.yeahitsthatbad.com/

Forgotten Flix
These dudes tend to concentrate on the films you would've seen on VHS back in the 80's. If you're of a certain vintage. Lost Boys, Critters, Commando... that sort of stuff. I recommend their Superman Special Edition podcast.
http://forgottenflix.com/category/podcast

Bad Movie Fiends
Remember how we thought we were hardcore when we did our From Justin to Kelly podcast? These chaps watch worse stuff than that for every single podcast they do. Fucking mentalists.
http://bmfcast.com/

The Science Fiction Show
If you thought Belasco was a nerd when he went on about comics & Dungeons & Dragons PDFs the other week, you ain't heard nothing yet. But in a good way. Want to hear 3 fellas debate why there was never a Han Solo movie for 45 minutes? Here you go!

Big Three Podcast: http://www.adamcarolla.com/B3Blog/category/podcast/
I could stop here and comedy would be covered. Quite simply, my favorite thing I've ever listened to.

Adam Carolla Show: http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheAdamCarollaPodcast
He's a funny guy. I don't listen to every minute of every show, but it's in the rotation, and I seldom turn it off.

Bill Burr, Monday Morning Podcast: http://www.billburr.com/podcast/
I never miss this one. It can be great and it can be so-so, but when he's not on, Bill is his own worst critic, so it's still funny.

The LCS Hockey Radio Show: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/lcs.rss
I don't always listen to the whole thing, but the conspiracy segments are awesome. And sometimes The Ed calls in.

Common Sense with Dan Carlin: http://feeds.feedburner.com/dancarlin/commonsense?format=xml
Really smart political show.

Hardcore History: http://feeds.feedburner.com/dancarlin/history?format=xml
Hosted by the guy who does Common Sense, it's some detailed, brutal stories from history. I've heard war stories about fascinating people I didn't even know existed.

The Joe Rogan Experience: http://joeroganexp.joerogan.libsynpro.com/rss
Never miss it. Some topics aren't my thing, but there's no one I'd rather hear than Joe when breaking some interesting shit down. Might be my #2 podcast.

Deathsquad: http://deathsquad.tv/?feed=podcast
Brian Redban is one of Joe Rogan's buddies. He does this thing where he lets different people rotate hosting shows. I really like Ari Shaffirs but haven't made my mind up on the other shows. I wish he'd split them up, one is the Naughty Show where he has porn stars on. I don't care to hear porn stars talk, except for maybe Buck Angel.

ESPN UFC Podcast: http://media.kyte.tv/services/rest/feedService.generate?_resp=xml&_rend=mrssOutMp3audio&_tran=itunesOut&mrs=25&key=r74GvGO3WhIhC9Gi
A bunch of Brits talk in depth MMA.

Talkin' Shit: http://talkinsht.libsyn.com/rss
Jim Jeffries and Eddie Ifft fuck with their poor room mate, Jason and are going to make him kill himself one day. Five stars.

Logically Critical: http://www.logicallycritical.net/podcast.xml
In a world where gut feelings are given more authority than facts, where the average person is permitted to drive 2 tons of steel death, and ‘God did it’ is an acceptable answer to why something happened, your life may just depend on listening to these podcast archives.

Robert Kelly, You Know What, Dude?: http://robertkelly.libsyn.com/rss
Pretty ok.

Uh Yeah Dude: http://feeds.feedburner.com/uhhyeahdude/podcast
Sometimes really fucking funny, sometimes not worth it. I can assure you this though, I will hate whatever song they intro or outro. Not a ringing endorsement, but when they are funny, you'll giggle like a maniac.

Besides that, it's mostly a bunch of gun and dog training podcasts, The Moth and shit like that.

The Big Three Podcast (http://www.adamcarolla.com/B3Blog/category/podcast/)
Allow me to make this recommendation unanimous. There are only a few shows that I make it a point to listen to every week. This is one of them. If you're unfamiliar, start from the beginning or just check out the movie "Windy City Heat" and listen in as two comics put their unsuspecting friend through the ringer.

Atoms, Motion, and the Void (http://www.atomsmotion.com/amvshows.htm)
I'm a sucker for storytelling and this show delivers. A frequent contributor to the Ron & Fez Show on Sirius/XM, Sherwin Sleeves delivers up a consistently well-produced and imaginative storytelling podcast complete with original songs and mesmerizing depth. Not to be missed.

The Distorted View Show [site NSFW] (http://www.distortedview.com/show/?cat=4)
Think you like dark, cringe-inducing humor? This show will test your limits. Every weekday, host Tim Henson scours the darkest corners of the web in search of the truly bizarre. He then presents his finds to you, complete with his own unqie (read: crass, vulgar, childish, and inappropriate) commentary. For a half-hour each day, sit back and witness this audio train wreck. After listening, you'll feel better about your own life.

Rue Morgue Radio (http://www.ruemorgueradio.com)
A primarily music-based podcast that supplements the finest horror magazine in the world, Rue Morgue. Tomb Dragomir takes you on a sonic adventure featuring some of most horrific new releases for horror fans. From soundtracks to scores, psychobilly to metal, Rue Morgue Radio has you covered.

WTF with Marc Maron (http://www.wtfpod.com/)
Comedian Marc Maron takes you inside the mind of the best comics working today. You'll learn about the craft, the struggle, and the heartache behind your favorite funny people.

YSDC: Cthulhu Podcast (http://www.yog-sothoth.com/content/848-Yog-Radio-and-Cthulhu-Podcasts)
A multi-media podcast from the largest Lovecraftian site on the web. Devoted to Lovecraftian investigative role-playing games such as Call of Cthulhu, Trail of Cthulhu and others as well as the works and influences of Jazz Age author, Howard Phillips Lovecraft, and those he inspired.

PseudoPod (http://pseudopod.org/)
The world’s premier horror fiction podcast. Pseudopod brings you the best short horror in audio form, to take with you anywhere.

Escape Pod (http://escapepod.org/subscribe/)
The premier science fiction podcast magazine. Every week we bring you short stories from some of today’s best science fiction stories, in convenient audio format for your computer or MP3 player.

RPPR, Actual Play - Role-Playing Public Radio (http://actualplay.roleplayingpublicradio.com/)
As Booze once said, I am a massive nerd. If you play or if you've ever wanted to hear what goes on during an actual table-top RPG game, this is for you. Games played include 'Dungeons & Dragons', 'Call of Cthulhu', 'Pantheon', 'Cyberpunk', and many more. Fuck the haters.

The curse of the SFJ Podcast Links thread.

Let's hope the Big 3 aren't struck by it next.

The dude on Hardcore History kinda sounds like 'Lasco without a southern accent.

Wow, I hope not! I HATE the way Dan Carlin talks. If his show wasn't so interesting, no way in hell I could listen.

The only thing I didn't like about the 2 that I listened to is that it's just so hard to listen to 2 in a row. I think it's because it's a 1 man show, but it would be hard to fit in another voice in there without getting off topic.

I don't see the 'Lasco similarity. This bloke sounds a bit full of himself, which I found off-putting at first. I'm well into it now, though. It's best to think of it as a Teaching Company lecture without the pompous music at the start, rather than a podcast.

The latest episode of Yeah It's That Bad looks like one for The Sav.

I mentioned this when we recorded the SFJ podcast tonight, but thought I should pass it along to everyone.

The latest episode of the Nerdist podcast has Penn Jillette as a guest. It's hysterical! Highly recommended! Midgets, smoking monkeys, Jimmy Carter - it's nuts!

The Ed has done some 2-hour Saturday night shows the past couple of weeks.

This past Saturday night show had a great last half with The Ed making prank calls to Pizza Hut, McDonald's, Dell Computer, and turns on the charm with some chick in the Philippines.

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/lcs/2012/03/31/the-ed-show

The prank calls are set-up and begin around 1 hour and 18 minutes into the show.
