I just read this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_deemed_inappropriate_by_Clear_Channe l_following_the_September_11%2C_2001_attacks
...about the songs Clear Channel attempted to ban after 9/11.
What do you think of this idiocy...
and
What do you think of censorship in general?

Jesus that is Idiocity at its best. Then again i can totally understand wanting some of those songs never to be played again. Such as Stairway to heaven or Anything by AC/DC . Christ knows we have heard enough of that. Eh.. Maybe clear channel is right!
I think it's pretty ridiculous, the notion of people trying to protect us from ourselves. Obviously there's something to be said for sensitivity, but this takes it waaaaay too far. I might as well take a stab at the FCC too, which has deemed itself the nation's moral compass. The FCC ensures that nobody will hear "fuck" on the radio or see a boobie on TV, lest we all turn in to a society of foul mouthed degenerate perverts. Which we already are, but nobody wants to accept it. :P

Speaking of censorship.... I was shocked to hear Canada has banned the Stern Show on Serius. Hmm and everyone always said canada was such a utopia of freedom and free health care.

I like the idea of censorship. What if my radio is tuned to Howard Stern and then I break my knob, keeping me from changing the channel? Then I'll be FORCED to listen to the show!!! That's shocking and apalling and I won't stand for it! Plus, I like to listen to potentially offensive programming and then call and complain when I have a problem, then tune in the next night. Mark Mays please!

They ban A LOT of things up here, and Canadian citizens don't even KNOW it because much of it is seized at the border. People are buying "gray market" satellites up here (TV and radio) so they can get around the communistic Canadian laws. It's F*&#@! embarassing, not to mention infuriating...

So, seriously, what's the deal there? It goes against all that I'd heard about Canada being all liberal and progressive and such. I mean, Canadians using fake American addresses to get Sirius Radios that play Stern???

OK so I exaggerate a little.

They do, but obviously, they can't get enough of Stern... Who is....um... an American. Wait... they don't all hate us, just their communist President does and told all of his constituants that America was evil (I'm kidding). Well, all the good canuks just kicked his ass out, and they voted in a guy who likes the USA.... Hooray for Canada!!!!

Wait...do you mean Prime Minister...or does Canada want to be like us so much that they've adopted our governmental system, too?

The world has no idea how things are here. We have an extremely left-wing society. Now that we've elected a conservative government (albeit a minority) some things might change- slowly.

"The Contest Nobody Could Win"When Johnny accidentally announces a contest that will cost the station it's entire yearly promotion budget, a "mystery music montage" is made to be so difficult that it's impossible to win. If you're stumped, the answer is:
"Too Wild To Tame" by The Boys
"Tumbling Dice" by the Rolling Stones
"YMCA" by the Village People
"Dankeschoene" by Wayne Newton
"Straight On" by Heart
"The Star-Spangled Banner" by Francis Scott-Key
Please bring back KRP WITH the original songs!

Lol, I remember that. What a great show.
Back to the list, I see that the Cure's "Killing an Arab" isn't on it.
