Tonight, on a very special Coast 2 Coast AM, Art will be discussing Ramona's death. So I'm sure there are some other people here listening in... if you have comments post here.

Guess I might be wrong.

I was sure he was going to break down... it's obviously tough for him to talk about and he's kinda shaky, but he's kept it going so far.

Sure. Essentially, he went into pretty great detail about Ramona's asthma... I guess she's had it almost all her life (and her brother died from it at 31). They were visiting somewhere in their RV and she started to have some pretty bad breathing problems. She took her usual medications and seemed to be getting better, so they both went to bed. When Art woke up, she was already dead (apparently, white.. Art said she was clearly dead) on the couch in the RV. Art went to the office of the facility they were at and had them call the police and coroner.

He also talked about how integral she was in his life, e.g. paying all the bills, managing so many portions of his life so he could just be himself and do the things he loves. He also spoke of how much they loved eachother (and actually, if you've heard Art talk about Ramona before, this is nothing new). They were apparently true soulmates, and Art mentioned feeling completely lost without her. He said he had a bottle of some sort of pills shortly after it happened and considered suicide. Shortly after this, he became pretty depressed on the air, wondering how he'd continue alone, and what he'd do now.

Apparently, a concerned listener called the local police at this point. Some time after this, as Art was leading in to his guest segment after 2:00 (Eastern), a loud alarm went off in the background. Art had the guest start talking and then went to investigate... apparently the Police had tripped the alarm in coming to check on him.

He did mention wanting to keep KNYE operating, as Ramona was half of the business and really loved it.

Oh wow, that is so sad. I am shocked he went back on the air, and so soon.

Art stated he'll be taking over the weekend shows on a regular basis now. He seems to think it'll help him deal, and that's why he was on the air last night, as well. He said something about what Ian Punnit will be doing, but I don't think anyone cared. ;)

I had it as a child, and Asthma is very serious... A lot of people don't understand how dangerous it can be, they take the condition for granted and that's sad.

Thanks for the recap Nate.
