I just reinstalled my OS (XP) and lost all of my favorites and programs.
I wanted to get some input on must haves from you guys.
I threw firefox on first thing, and Norton of course, but what are the programs that you guys can't live without.
What sites are on your favorites list? No pr0n, Ed. I have to keep those hidden from my wife.
:tip:
I like Firefox. I also have Full Tilt Poker, Poker Stars, and Ultimate Bet installed on each computer.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again on accounna my own personal experience.
POM, switch to a Mac you can afford with OS X. Say goodbye to everything heinous you've ever dealt with (daily) on your Windows OS's. Fuck 'em. I wouldn't have said this prior to the Intel deal -- that changed everything. These things are ungodly stable and unflappable. I know a LOT of recent converts who are singing the gospel now. :tip: (Not sayin', jus' sayin'.)

... I second Spooner's motion... PC's blow all sorts of cock... I spent 3 G's on my last Mac, almost 7 years ago now,(an imac), it's had one crash and only now am I considering an upgrade...
In my mind Mac's have always been superior, as a matter of fact the Windows OS is is always based on the previous Mac OS..
Switch bitch!

Shit, if I could afford a mac I wouldn't be reloading a stolen version of XP on my limping machine every six months.
Heaps, do any of those poker programs load you down with malware? or do they run pretty clean? I would love to throw down some poker.

That's a fuckin' quote for the ages. In fact, it would do well in an Apple campaign. Maybe they'll lower their prices a few percent.

NEVER had any problems with ANY poker program. I usually play on a 5.5 year old laptop with a broken fan, so naturally the resources are taken up a little quicker, but even THAT isn't a big deal.
I've heard rumors about people getting bad programs, but usually it's one of two things:
1. Dude has a few too many on a Friday night, goes a little too far with his credit card and ends up losing a bunch of money. Naturally, next day he blames the poker site for being rigged.
2. Some other choads copy the source code for poker sites, register similar domains (like poker-starz.org) and instead of a poker program to download, it's a virus.
But as usual with most problems on the internet, this is all avoidable by simply not being a dumb choad. :tip:

There's enough signaling and collusion in *real* poker games, but if you're still playing with real money in online poker, you've got bigger balls than me. The stories and articles of people who sit even in the low-blind rooms while they're chattin' on cellular conference calls. Ugh. Even worse in pot-limit -- fuckhole 1 jacks up the pot and bails out, and either fuckhole2 or fuckhole 3 takes down the mark (and the phat pot).
I played for about six months in 2003 (old Pokerroom.com) ... and even then, I didn't like the smell of some of the action over time. (I'd click those ratings on players and make notes -- then you'd see the same three assholes on the same table (out of thousands) over and over.
I'm stickin' to WSOP on the RRoD Box - ranked games. No real money, but the donkey factor's minimal and there's no threat for collusion.
I always put a mark in the notes of EVERY player that sits down at my table in a ring game. Worst case is that I'd run into the same handful of players at different times, playing like assholes and losing all their chips. I usually stick to limit hold 'em for ring games, though.
