My buddy gave me a new Hendrix disc that i have never heard before. It is only 6 tracks, and it is just Jimi and his guitar. He must have recorded it at his house or something because there are parts where you can hear the phone ringing in the background, and people shuffling along and shit. You can also hear him turn the pages of his notebook while reading the lyrics. Songs include 1983 (A merman i should turn to be), Voodoo Child, and Angel. Plus a few jams.

Anyway if you are a hendrix fan, you will probably enjoy hearing this. Shout out to me and i'll hook it up.

I think he's terrible, maybe the worst guitarist of the 1960s, right behind the guy from the Turtles.

I don't think he even ranks in the top 50 guitarists of all time, but he's accepted 'cause white people can look at him and say, "see, I like SOME negro music".

I have to admit I like the CD he did in '68, the one with "Perplexing Purple Stars". There was some good percussion on that.

By the way, my source for the list above was the Rolling Stones top 100, and Hendrix was actually number one. But I gotta say, that list is fucking retarded. It really, really is. Just look at all the guys BEHIND Kurt Cobain, that fuckhead from Rage Against the Machine, and that shithole from the White Stripes...

Also: Billy Deez Williams should've been much higher on the list, that guy was fantastic.

What is the name of the solo guitar release?

TheWagesofSin

What Ed described sure sounds like a bootleg of this as yet unreleased "Black Gold", but supposedly the only person who's ever heard it is Mitch Mitchell.

The tapes consist of sixteen songs, all created by a solo Hendrix armed only with his voice and a Martin acoustic guitar.

Seriously, though, the tracks might be off that other CD...Smoking Owl, you have that one?

Damn that sounds sweet. But i dont think this would be that, James is playing an electric on these tunes.

I have no clue about the album name, And the dude i got it from said he was pretty sure the disc came with a magazine.

Assuming this is not some sort of ripoff, an art dealer is selling felt pen drawings by Hendrix on craigslist. Interesting...I didn't know he did any other kind of artwork.
