If you are a Will Wright fan you will know that the first video game he ever got published was "Raid On Bungeling Bay" It was a cult hit back in the day and it eventually got imported overseas. It was so popular in Japan that Nintendo picked it up and released it not only on the Famicom (NES) but they also released it in arcades as part of their vs. series. You would think since they imported it to Japan that they would translated it to Japanese right? Wrong! They wrote the on screen instructions in English and what follows is both confusing and funny. Enjoy!

Back in the early '80s there was a mediocre boxing game called "Ring King." It was originally a arcade game and looked something like this.

It eventually made it's way to the NES and there was something added to it. Let's put it this way. I now know how boxers reagin their stregnth between rounds.

I once bought a Japanese made airsoft gun (it's a realistic looking pellet gun) that had the funniest safety instructions. Some of my favorites were:

*Do not point only to shoot for the people and the animal.

*Carry for the outside case, which could cause the trouble and dangerous.

*Pull slide for pump. To lock still heard "Kya" sound.

The last one boggles the mind. Apparently, when you pull the slide back, the gun is supposed to make a "Kya" sound.

Well I can answer the "Kya" part. In Japanese that is what that sounds like to them. Here it would probably be click.

Who doesn't remember that classic NES game Double Dribble. Very popular back then but how many of you played the arcade game?

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/9601/ddribble7xn.png (http://imageshack.us)

Just as good if not better than the NES version. Very realistic for it's time as a matter of fact it had one of the first sung that's right sung versions of the National Anthem. It was a computer voice but a voice none of the less. I wonder if Konami could have hired anybody better at the time :) . Well take a listen to one of the first video games that had the National Anthem sung with synthesised speech. It's a classic.

Be sure to stand up with your heart on your chest when you listen to it.
