I've go to admit; I am fascinated by the Shat. Always have been. He has always been a source of humor, mostly unintentional on his part, for me for many years. But in the last 10-15 years (ever since the Priceline commercials and CLASSIC SNL appearance), he's become a willing accomplice in the Mock the Shatner Club. His Boston Legal work is brilliant. And then he releases this little album with Ben Folds. Which I bought..and I love.
Has anyone else heard it?

You got to love him because he doesn't take himself too seriously.
Even the short pauses that he does (Which was later stolen by combover) is funny. I never heard any of his albums but always wanted.

boston legal is a great show... i wish they left the british babe on there!! but shat is starting to grow on me... he's gone from serious, to weird, to hysterical in the course of the past 10 years....

I'm still trying to get his rendition of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" out of my head.
"Picture yourself, in a BOAT, on a RIVER! With plasticine TREES and marmalade SKIES!"

Speaking of Shatner, I think this would be appropriate in the Chris Norton Babe of the Week thread!

Has Been has several stand-out tracks. The cover of Pulp's "Common People" kills, and the duet with Henry Rollins on "I Can't Get Behind That" deserves a listen.
And while sampling Shatner, why not try a Leonard Nimoy album?

I have Has-Been and have to admit, it's fantastic. It is indeed a fantastic album that flows perfectly. William Shatner should feel totally vindicated from his old crap.

Shat's the man, he pissed off everyone on Star Trek and didn't care. He's the only reason I got hooked on Boston leagal and did I mention... Capt. Kirk laid it to a blue chick, that's hot, dude is my HERO!
Shatner from the line.... Nothin' but net, he wins! he wins! How do you like him now?
Now for a word from our sponser

Oh and I forgot to give my thoughts on that SNL appearance too. That was one of the best SNL skits of all time.
Shat: "You people need to get a life." "I bet you never even kissed a girl."
Then the best part was when Shat and Phil Hatman where in the background screaming each other down. Then Shat comes back up to the podium and tells everyone that 'Star Trek' is for real, and everyone cheers.

For a has-been he's doing one hell of a lot of stuff these day's! Can't turn around for 5 minutes without seeing him on TV.
Shatner is an extremely versatile actor and is very successful at plying his trade.
Cheers,

uhh.... You will refer to him as Captain.
Captain, then Admiral, back to Captain, then dead from the nexus thingie, then met up with Picard and they "fought their way off of hold" and somehow came back to life to stop the bad guy. Then he died again. (low voice) JESUS!!!
Anyway what was the moviewhere he played the bad guy in, n-e-1 know? It was fairly recent (within the last 7 years) Shattner...er...I mean the Captain did a great job in that too.

When I was a kid I liked Star Trek TOS but these days I find it hard to watch-because of Captain Kirk as expressed by William Shatner. I suppose I don't mind the other things he's done. The man is flat-out obnoxious. I suppose some people find that sort of persona attractive.

Two words on this: Oh WOW!
Shatner sells kidney stone on eBay.
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- An online casino has a piece of Capt. Kirk.
Actor William Shatner has sold his kidney stone for $25,000, with the money going to a housing charity, it was announced Tuesday.
Shatner reached agreement Monday to sell the stone to GoldenPalace.com.
"This takes organ donors to a new height, to a new low, maybe. How much is a piece of me worth?" he said in a telephone interview.
GoldenPalace.com is noted for its collection of oddities, which includes a partially eaten cheese sandwich thought to contain the image of the Virgin Mary.

hehe, that's messed up!
When Shat started working with Ben Folds, I really started digging his persona. I've been a fan of Folds since the early days. Shatner's just... he knows who he is, but he doesn't care. He loves his cheeseball factor.

Do you guys know that on 'boston legal', whenever his cell phone rings and he flips it open it makes the "communicator" sound from Star Trek. Very Funny... My wife pointed it out and I replayed the scene about 10 times to make sure.
Shat's an animal... oooh I mean, Kirk's da man.
