For the more computer savvy than I. Is there any difference between the two? ie. picture/sound quality, etc?

As far as webcasts go, I've always gotten better results with the Real stream than the media player stream. However, there is absolutely no reason anybody should install or use realplayer. I use Real Alternative, a very small and much simpler player that does in a couple MB what reaplayer takes 30MB to do (not to mention how realplayer adds itself to startup, hijacks mp3 files, etc).

i'm not crazy about real player or the real media format for that matter. however, it works well for the webcasts.
