Okay, I've only bought Mrs. Cow 4 digital cameras over the years, but she wants another one. One of her tennis sows has a real thin DC what does pictures and videos. Of course, my heifer now wants something like it. Any 'gloid thoughts on what to buy/pilfer?

DJB or Boss might be the best to answer this, but I know one question they're gonna ask is, what subjects/environments is she looking to take pics in?

How about a new wife? I can hook you up with an Albanian for what you've shelled out on those snappers over the years. And she's probably thinner than your wife's mate's new camera too. :tipofthecap:
Buy her one of these and tell her the STFU.

As for point n' shoots, the little Canon's are tough to beat. Great features, quality built, great image quality, lots of bang for the buck.

I played with this little Nikon last week and was quite impressed. It has a huge LCD display, almost the entire back of the camera. The menu was easy to navigate and it was overall easy to use.

Both the Nikon and the Canon also do video, although if you want video, then get a video camera, not a digital still camera and vice versa.
This one's probably too big but lately I have been recommending this Canon (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canona620/)because it takes great pics, uses traditional batteries and the video is decent for a point and shoot.

Sorry Lee, I actually love my heifer. She is about 100 times above what I deserve.
Boss and DJB, thanks for the advice. I think Mrs. Cow wants one of those tiny doo-dads, but I want to get her something with a bit more firepower. As such, I'll definitely look at y'alls recommendations.

I have an Olympus 710 and it is perfect for the times you don't want to lug a large camera around. It has video and has several shooting modes and it is easy to use. It uses a lithium battery and it will take several hundred pictures before it needs to re-charge. You can also buy a second battery to have on hand when the other goes down. For a compact point and shoot it is a great value.

Damn, BYP.
And Cliff, I'll add that one to the review list. :tipofthecap:

I bought the Kodak C743 right before Christmas.

I know it's not the best camera on the market, but it does the job for me. Very easy to use and idiot proof for my benefit. Like the one Cliff commented on, it has a bunch of different "scenes" you can pick from in order to help you take the best picture.

I wish I could Commie. It is getting pretty ridiculous now, isn't it? I feel like I'm going to float away soon. It's stopped for a few minutes up this way so I'm making a run to Kroger before it starts again.

No shit. And we've had more than any other part of town, especially this week--probably 10+ inches. More coming as we speak. And this after rain nearly every day in May. Sheeesh.
