Reznor kinda lost me with that last "rock" type album. I was pretty convinced he should get back on drugs... but I'll check this one out; heard some good things about it.

The best way to describe it was in a review i read today, it sounds like it was recorded in factory that makes fuckin Terminators and light sabers.
If I had to try to describe it... I'd say it sounds like a space invaders arcade game being raped in the coinslot with a coat hanger. But in a good way.

 Now that's some funny shit. I've gotta buddy that loves em. I'm gonna HAFTA run that one by him!
Definitely not a NIN fan, but ironically I met a guy last night that used worked on their crew while touring for several years.

Just FYI, it's a concept album set 15 yrs in the future where everything has gone to shit and an alien being type creature is about to rape the earth if we don't get our shit together. In a nutshell...

I've had the album for a little while. Tried listening to it - can't. Thank God I didn't pay for it. Angelspit (http://www.angelspit.net/) is getting the most play on my iPoon, right now.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but Trent Reznor may be the coolest motherfucker in music.
Since parting ways with his record company, he released an instrumental 4 LP set called "Ghosts I-IV". He sold the 4 LP collection through Amazon online and his website for $5 total. I bought it and liked it. It was worth the $5 for nearly 2 hours of new NIN music. If you're a DJ, you can buy the entire album's raw GarageBand/ProTools project files for remixing for $75.
Well, today, Reznor finished mastering a new "traditional" (music + lyrics) NIN single and released it to radio stations. On his website, he says:
Hello everyone. Lots going on...
Some of you may have heard a new Nine Inch Nails track on your radio today. You will be able to download your own copy of the track right here later tonight for free - stop back in a few hours.
What else is going on? Hmmn. We're considering a real-time live webcast of me signing 2,500 copies of the just-arrived, super-ultra-mega-deluxe GHOSTS edition all day Thursday. These really turned out great and I can't wait to sign EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.
We have some tour info coming... SOON (I know you love that word) as well as some other info about something else, too.
posted by Trent Reznor at 3:08 PM pst, from los angeles.
Rumor has it that there will be an entirely new NIN album (again, music + lyrics) in two weeks.

I haven't been able to listen to NIN since that sort of "rock-oriented" album from a few years ago. I only heard a few songs of that but I thought it was shit. He needs to get back on drugs and so does Stephen King IMHFO.

I never was a huge fan of NIN, but I saw them play with Rage Against the Machine in L.A. years ago and they put on one hell of a show. People hanging naked upside down and extras from the Road Warrior movies fighting in some kind of pit. Fucking crazy shit.
Now that I have said that I would also like to add that NIN is for tweakers and tweaker slutwhores. :tip:

The three bands I listen to. Days of The New. Alice in Chains and Nine in Nails.
It's the music with the message that the artist is trying to convey that takes it to another level. Some music has no meaning. Just an empty collection of sounds. But when I can listen to the story behind some of the songs that Trent writes (As well as the other two I mentioned) and relate it to my own personal life and emotions, it is truly euphoric. Oh and it helps to be fucking wasted too.

Yea, "Pretty Hate Machine" is what got me turned onto them first but now I have been listening to "The Fragile" over and over mixing it up with some Days and AIC.
To chose one favorite is near imposible but right now the song "Even Deeper" takes my listening experience to a higher level.

Did anyone read that wild article in Wired a couple months ago about Reznor teaming up with these weird mystery/puzzle designers, creating some sort of global scavenger hunt surrounding his latest record? It was really insane, and the hardcores were quitting their jobs and traveling all over to try and uncover all these ridiculously obscure clues and whatnot.
