Mel Kiper's shoe shined hair, angry Jet's fans, another stupid Matt Millen pick, are all part of the greatest day in sports IMHO.What are your thoughts on the draft? Who do you want your team to pick? Post your mock draft.

Quinn will be the best player to come out of this draft...

I think Brady Quinn having his stock plummet is the best thing that could happen to him... Cleveland, Detroit, Chokeland, and the usual suspects might pass on him. Which might mean he will get a spot on a solid team and carry a clipboard for a year or two. He's unathletic and always suffered against bettter college squads! And he won't be better coached in the Pros than by Charlie, so he'll be better served to get his reps on the practice field for a while.
I think Anthony Gonzoles will be a steal if he slips to the late second/third round, and Steve Smith (USC) will be pro-ready. Most other guys I see right from the start will need a year or two of seasoning to adjust to the NFL game. But I'm just a college and Pro football junkie. Nobody has yet asked me to be a talent scout. But I'm availible, if any GM comes callin'!

Cleveland picks Quinn at #3....I hope.
Id settle for AP as well, but really want Quinn.
He gets hated on around here because of all the Buckeye fans.

I'm seeing Atlanta trade up for Calvin Johnson, as well as they should. He's a Georgia Tech boy, so it'd help with ticket sales, and Vick needs someone to go catch those things he chunks in the air. And Al Davis is so unpredictable. He may draft Johnson No. 1 and leave everyone scrambling.
1. Raiders - JaMarcus Russell
2. Falcons (Trade from Lions) - Calvin Johnson
3. Cleveland - Brady Quinn
4. Tampa Bay - Gaines Adams
5. Arizona - Joe Thomas
6. Chicago (I see the Redskins trading for Lance Briggs) - LaRon Landry
7. Vikings - Levi Brown
8. Detroit - Jamaal Anderson
9. Miami - Amobi Okoye
10. Houston - Adrian Peterson
Oh, man. I like the NFL as much as the next guy, but Draft Day holds my interest about as much as the Pro Bowl.
At least if the Brownies draft Quinn, we can look forward to a "battle of the jutting chins" rivalry between him and Carson Palmer.

______________
Vern, you got AP dropping to the 10 spot? As much as I would like to see that happen, I don't see him getting past 5.
As a Texan fan i'm hoping for either LaRon Landry, or Alan Branch in the first round, and Robert Meachem later on. I have a feeling ATL is gonna snag Landry though.

I want my team to have Mean Joe Green on it.

If Mike is in the league much longer. This dog-fighting ring story may have legs.

=D> =D> =D> =D> =D> I know exactly what you mean! My son asked me if I was going to listen to the draft on Sirius. I asked HIM why he wanted me to fall asleep at the wheel.

Yeah, i couldn't really care less for the draft. Besides the browns draft picks always end up sucking anyway.

The Cow absolutely loves the NFL draft. Where else can you witness the spectacle of a bunch of lard-ass Jets fans booing the Jets pick before it's even made.
The only pick I care about is the Texans. If we are lucky enough to see AP fall to the 10-hole, what a glorious day. If not, look for Smith to trade down to add a 2nd rounder. We can still get a quality DB or OL in the late 1st and early 2nd.
As for Quinn, can a guy get any more OVERRATED? The guy has happy feet, and can't hit the same spot twice in a row. Given the team needs, there is a chance that Quinn falls hard today.

I thin Quinn is better than the sudden criticism suggests, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a fall the likes of Aaron Brooks (or whoever the QB was that fell to Green Bay 2 years ago). He's smart, polished, played in a pro-system, and pretty damn tough. But he simply couldn't move the ball on good teams last year. I'd say JaMarcus is far more overrated! The guy wasn't even a first day guy until his bowl game heroics.
There just aren't many great early picks other than Calvin Johnson, who I think will be a superstar. For a WR sleeper, keep an eye out for ECU's Andre Allison. Peterson runs too upright for my tastes, much like Curt Warner (the 80's RB, not the QB with the butch wife). He's powerful and strong, but durability would be a concern. At number 10 he'd be a steal, though.

the only thing I like about the draft is the impression Jim Rome does of those Jet fans you are talking about...
The draft would be a little more competitive if they shortened the time between picks. I think 5 minutes would limit the indecisiveness for high picks and they'd probably be able to finish that bitch up in a day.

Yea but then they would lose a bunch of advertising!

Okoye falls to #10 and the Texans! Yessssss! That makes Okoye in the 1st, and Schaub in the 2nd (effectively).
Beat that bitches.
BTW, Millen takes another WR. Wow, now there's a shocker.
Brady Quinn's girlfriend is getting pissed off. She looks like she's scanning the room for Matt Leinart, so she can be his new baby's mama.

Yeah, and only gave up a #2 this year and their #1 next year. Geesh, Quinn better turn out to be the next Elway.

Yeah, but this one can play. I really thought the Raider's would take him.

Of course, they also stated that about the last 4 WR's that Millen picked.

"They?" Mike Williams was always considered a #2 guy at best, and everyone I heard except Mel Kiper felt like they reached for him. And Roy Williams is a damn good player! Mike Williams and Charles Rogers were busts (considering where they were drafted, and injuries didn't help), but I'm tellin' ya now; Calvin Johnson is the best receiver I've seen at the college level. And there aren't 4 previous 1st round wr's, it's 3. 3 of the last 4, I'll grant you! I don't see the #1 potential of JaMarcus at all. Yeah, he's got tremendous upside, but you don't draft your #1 overall on a project. Or a kicker, but this is Al Davis we're talking about.

Dear sweet gud, the Miami Dolphins are fucking idiots.
They pick a reciever who is questionable in traffic instead of a probable franchise QB.
Fuck, the curse of Johnson/ Wannstache continues...
In '96 the Dolphins pick Darl Gardener in the first round instead of Eric Moulds, who ends up being a Dolphin killer, Ray Lewis was avaiablt, too.
In '97 they taken Yatil Green at the 15th pick, who injured his knee I think on his way up to the podium and ended up playing like, three downs for the fins.
The Dolphins choose trade down in '98 to pick John Avery instead of Randy Moss
The 2000 draft yielded NOT ONE player who stuck...NOT ONE!
Christ...it's too painful to go on. And now this...shit.

Are you saying te ENTIRE 2000 draft was a bust?
Are you saying te ENTIRE 2000 draft was a bust?
Yeah, they all died in a plane crash on the way home from the combine. The NFL had no choice but to use regular Joe's to replace them. Keanu Reeves even made a movie about it called The Replacements.
