I was just thinking about this today for some reason. I was thinking about the smashing pumpkins going on a reunion tour when they are 70 like the rolling stones. I dunno, people still dig them no matter how old they get...so more power to 'em I guess.

Never been a big fan, but I respect them for influencing my favorite bands. Same with the Beatles.

They remind of Lloyd, who's GOTTA rock. You appreciate the effort but it's embarrassing nontheless. And the hitch kick...JEEEEZUS!

The Stones are rock legands no matter how you slice em.....However when the cheapest seat at 50,000 seat show still costs over 60 bucks well i think we are going to have a little problem... the cheapest seat at any stadium show should NEVER be more than 25 bucks.... my point is rock legands or not, noone is worth 60+ dollars to see live band when you cant REALLY see them because you are in the nosebleeds. At this point the whole experiance is similar to going to a theatre for a movie...... I'll just wait for the DVD.

Beatles >>>> Rolling Stones

Of course, the Beatles dont have an extra 30 yrs to embarrass themselves as a group, or
put out a "Tattoo You" album. Jeeeeesus.

But we can imagine what that would be like. Just look how the Beatles did apart from each other. I don't mean commercially because Paul will never have to wipe his own behind again, but musically. George's biggest hits were: Oh Sweet Lord, a stolen riff and I got My Mind Set on You. Ringo is Ringo, Paul is the physical embodiment of MUZAK, and John's mind was addled by sensuality, grace, charm, and incredible beauty that is Oko Ono.

Their still alive?

Yeah, if you call that livin'.

Actually I don't know if Charlie Watts is still alive or if he is some sort of puppet, controlled by Malkavich above the stage.

Hi, a noobus here!

I think the Stones have gotten ( or got to a long time ago ) a point where they dont care what we common folk think anymore. They are the Lengendary Stones!

I heard a report the other day that where the people may be laughing at Mick for his prancing at 60 years +, Mick is laughing as he prances all the way to the bank! Then they gave an ungodly figure he was prancing away with. Incredible!!!

Great points there. I mean its a good thing they broke up when they did, because it was headed south. "Let It Be" is a cool CD, but only parts of it, others you can tell Paul had is hard on for English show tunes. Look at the contrast on "Magical Mystery Tour". "I am the Walrus" vs. "Penny Lane"? Jeeeeeeeesus!
Paul needs to hang it up. I think somewhere John and George... are doing a two step in their graves.

The sad thing is that "Tattoo You" is probably actually their best album since 1972. They really were a great band up to that point, but now they're burnouts playing for burnouts. They still seem to be good on stage, their albums are the waste. I wouldn't mind seeing them, but I gave the money I would have spent on Stones tickets to Katrina victims. I won't have the memory of having seen the Stones, but I'll have a good reason why not.
