I havent played Microsofts Flight Simulator in 10+ years, hell i havent used a PC in 5+ years. And frankly I remember that old flight simulator rather boring. But i saw these screenshots today and my pants got tight. Unfortunatly i dont have a PCand wont be getting one just for this game. I do have a MAC and PS2 and would like to get a good flight sim... any one have any suggestions?

Check out these screens..... http://www.fsplanet.com/fsplanet_com_fsx.htm

X-Plane. It's availible for Linux, Mac and PC. www.x-plane.com. They've got a demo, so check that out.

I've had it since last year. It doesn't look quite as good as the latest FS (Version 8 brings it up to about the last version, and better in some respects), but it is a much better simulation model. And, in my opinion, more fun to fly. Not only can you fly on earth, but you can fly space vehicles up to semi-orbital altitudes, and Mars.

I have this program for my iMac.. I found it to be relatively similar to FS... But the space flight was a nice touch... It's a relatively powerful sim...

yeah I saw these screens from CES and was pretty impressed too.

it seems that the terrain detail has seen by far the most improvement...models apeear to be quite poly-heavy too :D

that HD-DVD for x360 announcement was a bit unexpectewd also

I like X-Plane's modeling realism. It's fun to modify existing planes with crazy features. I once made an SR-71 with something like 3,000,000 pounds of thrust. Could've gotten that sucker orbital, but takeoff is a bitch. And re-entry usually results in lawndarting it.

Dickman... Do you have an elaborite setup with pedals and joysticks? I am really thinking of getting this game..... Do they have most US cities in pretty good detail? I havent played a flight sim since my first computer.. which if you look in the other thread was a pentiium 90!

Negative on the pedals, but I have a nice setup (Saitek X45) which has a throttle. It's fun for playing Falcon 4.0 on.

Version 7 (which I have) is not very detailed. I haven't toyed with Version 8, so I don't know. But, from the screenshots, V8 with Global Scenery looks a few orders of magnitude better.

Check out the demo, it has a metro area in it. Gauge how you'd like it from that. There aren't too many good FSims for Macs out there.

My favorite game is MS Combat Flight Simulator 2- Pacific Theater. The graphics are beautiful and there are pretty of Bowlheads to shoot at.

Found another game about planes coming out, this one is for the Xbox 360 Its called Over G. And looks like a fighter pilot game. Unfortunatly i am thinking its going to be a Japan only release

http://www.taito.co.jp/d3/cp/waf/index.html - this site is not in english ,, and the best way to get a look at the game is by watching the Movie located in the Gallery section. Too bad its tiny.

http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/taito/over-g-screens-doing-flybys-148097.php - here are some screen shots,, which are also smaller than i'd like.
