Rumsfeld resigns to be replaced by CIA Chief Robert Gates.
Looks like the elections are already having an impact. Hopefully this will help out over there, but who knows. I am sure the Dems will be shouting victory. And i guess they should! But i dont think anyone can deny that something needs to be done about the situation in iraq. Lets hope this helps.

I feel he was just a fall guy. Someone has to take the blame. Like you said Ed, this is a knee-jerk reaction to the blue's victories yesterday. Can't say I disagree, however. The guy has lost all respect from this country, myself included.

I wonder how Court and Fatboy will do the George W Bush Boy President series now, I liked the Rumsfeld character. Oh well, life goes on.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the first thing on The Larry's mind when our Secretary of Defense steps down. Add that one to the evidence file...

ok from a military perspective: FUCK YAH!!!! he has destroyed what is the navy as we used to know it. Rumsfeld got rid of more than half of navy ranking jobs and replaced them with 1/2 english speaking immigrant civillians who have NO allegience (sp) to our fine country but yet they have access to our facilities up to and including our aircraft! i'm glad he's gone for that reason.

seems like half the people were telling he wasn't tough enough and half the people were telling him to fellate every rag head in the region.
with orders like that, who can do the job right?
talk about mission impossible.
Yeah, I don't really get the impression that another one of Bush's pals is gonna do any better.

On the contrary, Gates was a cabinet member for Bush 41, and highly critical of the Rumsfeld-led Pentagon. As someone who's been bitching mightily about the job the Bush 43 administration has done the last six years, I think this is a very good appointment.
Apart from all the bone-headed catastrofucks Bush has handed us, I agreed with him on Social Security and now this. What could have happened?
Oh yeah, middle America finally woke the fuck up.
