wait, call off the crickets. An interesting twist is developing in this story. According to Foxsports.com:
A law enforcement official has told The Associated Press that a member of the Yankees was aboard the plane that crashed into a New York City high-rise. FAA records show the plane was registered to pitcher Cory Lidle.
WTF?

I wonder if insurance covers this? They are pretty expensive condos.

Yeah. They're reporting that Cory Lidle (Yankees pitcher) was piloting the plane, and that he is deceased. What a shame. :-(

FOX media were interviewing the building manager, who said that he had to go to meet with the other board members about insurance and coverage. Sucks to be him.

I blame the Yankees. If they didn't suck ass and were still in the playoffs, Corey Lidle wouldn't be a fine red mist. HIS BLOOD IS ON YOUR HANDS, JOE TORRE!!

This has got to be a kick in the nuts to all the Yankey fans. When I was eating dinner, some douchebag said, and I quote, "Baseball players don't make good pilots."

I was driving home from work and I heard the local radio guy mention something about a plane going into a building, and I nearly wrecked my car...I was floored. I was like, "Oh fuck, not again..." Then I figured if it had actually been a terrorist attack, we would have heard something about it at work. I soon learned it was an accident, not an attack.

Don't worry, Russy. It was the pic of the midged out airplane pullers from the random image thread. The bloke in the white shirt at the front looks like a mini-Phil. ;-)

I was listening to Ed Schultz tonight (tape delay) and he was trying to pin this one on Bush.
Hey Larry, you misspelled "Yankee."

Well, I had a Mini Jihad and it was cute and I got all the chicks but despite the small size it drank gas and I had to get rid of it.

“He is a scab,” Rhodes said of Lidle, who according to Rhodes was a replacement player during the 1995 spring training lockout with the Brewers. “When he started, he would go 51/3 innings and (the bullpen) would have to win the game for him. The only thing Cory Lidle wants to do is fly around in his airplane and gamble."
I don't think Arthur Rhoades will be given a chance to spaek at the funeral. These comments were right after the Phillies traded him to the Yanks.
