Not that I'm Johnny Q. Christian, but if I want to say Merry Christmas, I'm gonna say Merry Christmas!

Happy Birfday, Jesus. And if the muslims don't like it, we can send the Pope round to kick some arse.

I'm an atheist, but someone wishing me Merry Christmas doesn't bother me at all, at least they're not saying "Fuck off and die!"

.. Unless the christmas wishes are followed with some high pressure sales pitch to join their church. I usually just wish them happy holidays or somethng in return. I can be an atheist and still be perky and enjoy the general mood of December =)

I'm the exact same way. It's just another holiday to me. Some people (though far fewer) make my favorite holiday, Halloween, out to be a big religious thing too. No big deal.

Here's the thing, though. A retailer changing a greeting from Merry Christmas to Happy Holidays is not necessarily trying to undermine ones religion. It's merely an acknowledgement that people of different faiths also celebrate at this time of year and we want their money too.

As an atheist who puts up a tree, I don't care if they call it Holiday Tree or Christmas Tree or whatever. The tradition of putting up a tree is pagan in origin anyway. So, all that it matters is the significance you put on it.

I prefer F.O.A.D. but given that's not one of the choices...

Jebus, man, I don't know! Sometimes I say "Merry Christmas" and sometimes "Happy Holidays" and, when I'm feeling paritcularly frisky, I'll drop a "Happy Christmas".

Holy crap, I hate a world where we gotta think about shit like this!

We celebrate Festivus every year. I have my steel pole standing where a tree normally would, and we do the Feats of Strength. A FESTIVUS FOR THE REST OF US!

I've been going with "Happy Happy Merry Merry" for as long as I can remember. One time recently someone said how about Hanukkah and I pointed out to the agrieved party that that holiday had alread passed but I hope she enjoyed it. When in those rare years that I've sent out cards, I go with a general winter theme and personalize a Hanukkah or
Xmas message.

Off topic: The black folks I know would kill me if I sent a Kwanza card as they despise that holiday (one friend won't let me off the phone till she's over her tirade about Kwanza which she calls that "quasi pagan godless" holiday, on hte plus side she's a Halloween fan and loves scary movies).

Me and my liberal friends are already planning out our "War on Christmas" for 2006. It's so much work. On top of that I've got to spread the homosexual agenda around.
