Damn, that Zombie Island trailer was depressing. And no game play was shown. Zombies are the ultimate douche bags to kill in a game, but I want to see the game, not cut scenes. And I like guns, not axes and kitchen knives. The frustrating thing about Dead Rising was how goddamn hard it was to get a gun. Here'd come a hoard of zombies and I'd be throwing plates and trash cans. Fuck that shit.

I dunno man... I'd dig me a fire axe. Dead Rising 2 was sweet because you could use moose antlers to kill zombies. Mother fuckin' MOOSE ANTLERS! Oh yeah.

Sure, fully automatic weapons are clearly the most effective tool when fighting a horde of zombies, but if none are available, then here's a "top ten list" of what I'm looking for- ranked in order of importance...

I liked Left 4 Dead b/c you had a big gun (choice of shotgun, scoped rifle, big or small machine gun) and a pistol. You could mele fight, but it was about shooting zombies. Resident Evil was similar, but you had a knife as a mele weapon like in COD. The games where you can use everything on the map as a weapon are fine, but always sorely lacking in firearms. I'm the greatest at wasting my ammo while I walk around and then having to use a frying pan on a hoarde.

I gotta go with Sav on this one. Guns are great, but should never be a primary weapon unless your sure your immediate area is secure. In that case, distance is your friend. However, unless silenced, the firearm will draw hidden undead to your location. As Max Brooks states in his book "The Zombie Survival Guide", 'bladed weapons don't need reloading'.

The ideal weapon is silent, swift, and very manuverable. I would choose a nice machete as a primary weapon and keep a trench spike on me as a secondary or for dual-wielding.

If you really think about it, the crossbow is probably the best (and if not, near the top of the list) weapon to use against zombies.... It's relatively quiet, it's easy to reload than a regular bow and arrow, it's accurate at a reasonable distance and it gives you more time/distance than typical melee weapons. The downside, is that only Elves and bitch-whore female action heroes use them as a serious choice for armed defense. lol, j/k. The redneck from Walking Dead uses a crossbow and it's pretty handy since he can re-use his arrows for more kills. Can't do that with a bullet. He's thinking green and he's killing zombies... That's bitchin'.

Guns can have silencers/suppressors, but I've never seen one in a game. Don't get me wrong, I love lead pipes and katanas in games like DR. It just got a little silly when a fire extinguisher was the only thing handy b/c you were out of ammo. And they only left enough ammo in the game for about 5% of your kills. It really wasn't even a 3rd person shooter, technically. I want to *mostly* shoot zombies.

So any of you follow through and get LA noir? Well i Did. And frankly i got board rather quickly. I got to the end of the murder unit cases and quit playing. I ejoyed it at first but it was so damn repetative that i lost interest quickly.

I have been playing dead space 2. pretty decent. Never finished the first dead space but i am almost through this one. Its decent if you are into that sort of game.

I think most people feel the same about LA Noire. It's amazing at first, but the gameplay lets it down. You feel like you're being walked through it, rather than making things happen. I got about halfway through it.

When they stick that face animation technology onto GTA... THEN they'll have a game.

Battlefield 3 comes out in October. I'll be having some of that.

Haven't tried blletstorm Melon. I also thought MAfia 2 was decent. It was short, which is fine with me since i usually grow tired of games before the end.

I've been playing NBA 2k11 and MLB 2k11. havent had a bball or baseball game sine the PS2 days. They are somewhat fun. MLB takes forever to play a game though. I do dig the new "Create your own player and play him from the minors to the bigs." game mode. So that's what i have been sticking too. NHL 11 had this mode as well and was an awesome game.

I just bought Dark Souls. I should have listened to the reviews that said, "You will die, a lot." This is by far the most frustrating game ever. It's well put together, the controls are sharp, but EVERYTHING is poorly explained.

Since BF:Bad Company 2 came out I've had a "cannot connect to EA" error sporadically. I've called three times. It improved at the beginning of this summer, but still happens.

The whole onslaught add on is fucked. I spent money to get the stupid thing too.
Hitboxes don't exist half the time. I knife someone in the face, back or sack, it doesn't matter, they don't get hurt. I can shoot them in the head with 5 clips of assault rifle shots. (I've done it) Still alive.
EA'S still fixing it. Its been out for at least 6 months. So screw them.

Song selection is bit lacking IMO. There's 3 Rolling Stones songs, RHCP's Higher Ground (a blast to play!), 2 Nirvana songs, Kravitz, Muse etc. Alot of the songs are indie though. I think the music industry is a bit leary about lending their properties to these games. Still no DLC yet, but there will be soon.

Lasco, you need an Xbox audio adapter to run the audio directly to your speakers. Then use hdmi out to the tv. Or, use component cables and split the audio/video. I have to rewire everything just to play this game.

It came out here yesterday & I bought it from the only independent video game shop left in Walthamstow. I called ahead to make sure they had a copy & the dude said he was closing up for prayers & would leave it in the phone unlocking kiosk opposite the shop. Fuck me. There are about 25 phone unlocking kiosks within a 50 foot radius of that place. It took me half an hour to track the place down.

Yeah, xbox servers are back. I was worried, thought it was the same problem I used to have.

It is slow paced. I tried to rambo the hell out of it like I used to sorta do in bad company 2 and it's just not possible. Big areas, prone snipers on roofs, dude's in nooks and crannies. It definitely feels more realistic, and I'm having to adjust. Its good, I think I'll like it better in a week.

I played San Andreas twice. Once when it came out and once just before 4 came out. It really ruined 4 for me. I kept expecting something from 4 that never really happened. I rented both the expansions too, and although they were worthwhile, they could never capture SA's or even Vice City's magic.

I agree with you completely. The graphics in 4 are awesome and complex, but it's just not as fun as the the two you mentioned and I'm not sure exactly why. For some reason 4 doesn't feel as wide-open as San Andreas...maybe the concept is just not as fresh as it once was.

Good eye, Booze. I played the shit out of E.T. when I was little. I know he had it too, but damned if I can find it. When playing Atari, half the adventure was trying to figure out what the fuck you were supposed to be doing. Most of the games had six screens, but it would take you months to figure out the right order to access them to win. We were a sad lot.
