Now and days I only listen to a couple of radio shows. If I'm up late enough I stilll love listening to coast to coast. One of my favoriet afternoon shows is John and Ken on KFI. It's not only very informitive but sometimes it's down right hilarious. They have a archive I highly encourage you to listen to some of their segments in the archive

Some of my favorite ones are

Lou Sheldon, "Reverend":
Nearing Schivo's death this dirthbag was using every reason in the book to keep her alive. The best line during the interview was when John said, "I actually enjoy yelling at you."

Mayor Hahn Meltdown:
Another beauty. By the end of the interview John got him so upset he was crying.

Sam Rubin, KTLA Gadfly
Another douche bag who does the local news here. He claimed that John and ken hired illegal immigrants to do stuff at their house. so what do they do. They threaten to sue him for liable if he didn't retract his statment. later John's wife calls up to yell at him. Another pure classic.

Blake and King, Trance Mix
This was a mix sent in by a fan. It was a interview that King did with Blake and it's hilarious.

Lanny Davis, Lawyer
Another classic. after hearing it you'll think he was a Phil Hendrie character. He was a lawyer for the victim's father on the Michael Jackson case. The lawyer accused the mother of being a mental institute although after the interview you'll think he was from one.

“Baghdad” Bob Mulholland
The shortest interview they ever did. Enough said.

Bob Mulholland, Campaign Advisor
This is the one you guys want to hear. You will swear on whatever god you pray to that this is a Phil Hendrie character.

Funniest show ever was Rick & Suds in Miami, WIOD.
Two of the quickets, funniest guys I ever did hear.

I also used to listen to Neil Rogers on the same station, I'd listen until he started talking about hockey.

Coast to Coast and various things on NPR are the only non-music shows I listen to regularly. After these two and Phil its a lot of crap or doesn't fit with my schedule

also, its hard to get reception from my underground bunker

Hmm... other radio shows. I'm into politics so Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage. Sometimes Glenn Beck (if only because down here he comes on before Rush) but not so much lately. Todd Schnitt comes on after 3pm and I usually listen to him a couple times a week. Still my favorite has to be Phil Hendrie. The political talk gets just as tiring as listening to the local sports guys go over for the ump-teenth time whatever story is in the headlines. Phil is great because you get good laughs and a break from the sports/politics routine. He really has brought back radio's classic identity which is quality entertainment on a consistant basis.

Coast to Coast mostly. I can't stomach most of the national hosts anymore (Limbaugh, "Dr." Laura, etc.) I listen to mostly local hosts on wbt 1110 in Charlotte, NC. Sometimes when I'm really bored I'll put on the local NPR affilliate. The only problem with that is that the boredom becomes crushing then.

Like Daniel, I'm into politics as well, but I work second shift, so I only listen to Hannity (and Rush if I'm in early). I used to listen to Savage, but lately his anger has just become to much to stand. Anyway, after Hannity, I dig out the Hendrie CDs and laugh my ass off the rest of the night.

Sometimes I will listen to Coast to Coast. Its fun when they do open lines and other paranormal stuff other than UFO's like vampires, ghosts, hauntings other weird crap like that, even time travel. When they bring on the UFO experts it gets boring to me.

Limbaugh mostly. I sometimes listen to Hannity. I have tried listening to Air America on XM Radio but I just can't get into it.

If i'm not listening to Hendrie MP3s on the way to work, I listen to Ace & TJ based out of Charlotte. They don't generally do schtick...it's just them talking. TJ is friggin hilarious and Yankee Pete is so straight forward, he offends those people that can't handle somebody telling them the truth.

I use to listen to Hannity, Forehead, Rush, Savage, and Niel Boortz. I found that so much political talk was just making me an angry bitter person, so I stopped. There are far more interesting and relevant things in my life than politics.

I stopped listening to Savage a long time ago. His brand of concervatism was borderline hate speech. Plus, I don't think I've heard a more angry, self inflated, egomaniac in my life.

When I was younger, I listend to Lex and Terry. But you can only hear so many fart, belch, get me laid, get my girl to sleep with another girl speech before you realize that there's more to life. Lex and Terry is a lot like Leykis in my opinion. They are borderline shock jocks without the shock and without the funny.

Yeah with a dry personality like Dr. Drew you need somebody really funny to make it intresting. Anybody see Dr. Drews show on the Health channel...........................Holy Jesus.................It's both infromative and dull at the same time.

I don'tlike much other "talk radio" besides Phil. I used to listen to Rick and Suds in Miami but not much else. These days I'll catch to internet feed of 790 The Ticket, a sports station out of Miami to catch up on the Dolphins and Heat and to hear the hated Dan Lebatard. But that's pretty much it.

I know Phil isn't a big fan of Savage but I must admit, the Savage Nation is my second favourite show after Mr Hendrie's. I wish Aussie talk radio had the bite and guts that these two blokes have but alas, it's a bore by comparison.

Phil Hendrie really is a unique act. Not only is he the most entertaining of all radio/TV shows out there, but when it comes to political commentary (and I know he is cutting back on this part of the show) he is totally addictive. Add to that his anecdotal family stories -- current home life and past childhood -- and you have a trifecter!

C2C, Savage (take him with a grain of salt), and as for NPR--- Car Talk (i dont give a crap about cars but these guys are sort of funny), Wait Wait Dont Tell Me, and Says You! Anything else can pound it. OH yeah, the John Bachelor program has the best bumper music IMO, makes the international news topics sound like a Ridley Scott movie.

Howard Stern every now and then
The MJ Morning show every morning
The Ron and Ian show (days off from school)

Bubba The Love Sponge every afternoon
Coast to Coast every now and then

The PHS podcast on the weekends.

I'm also a clone. Rome kicks ass, catch him on his streamlink (similar to the backstage pass.. it's a Premier thing, I guess)

Sometimes I listen to Don & Mike, but usually they blow ape.

Most of mine only appear on KFI 640 in L.A. -

Bill Handel - week mornings it's "On the News", weekends it's Law talk

Dr. Dean Edell - gives medical and health-related advice

Coast 2 Coast - most know what that show is about

The Jesus Christ Show - Jesus Christ hosts the show, talks about biblically-related topics

Personally, I can't stand most of what's on radio these days. But, when I'm not listening to PHS or the Best Of CDs, I'll occasionally catch Laura Ingraham on XM and some local sports talk.

Although, even most local sports talk show are getting so pathetic. Like the Jungle, just how many clueless, I played intramural flag football for the frat team, morons can you actually listen to before you implode of dumbness?

I agree. I listen to KFI here, and its absolutly entertaining, I probably listen every waking second. At 9AM, blowhard Limbaugh comes on. Well, I have about 35GB of Phil, so I turn on iTunes and shuffle the crap out of it. 12AM Dr Laura comes on, I dont even notice, cause Phil is still shuffling away. At 3PM, John and Ken come on, and the iTunes goes dead. 7PM I stay on KFI, even though Phil is on. Sometimes Ill stream Phil, but usually stick with John Ziegler. 10PM rolls around and I stay with KFI for Coast to Coast. I dont take it serious, but its hilarious with open lines and some of the nutty guests (Richard C Hoagland). At around 2AM, Ill either listen to the replay of C2C, cause I seem to miss the first hour, or just stop audio all together.

Phil actually turned me on to talk radio in 2001. I was driving home from Camp Pendleton one night and, Im not sure what bit it was, but Im sure it was Bobby Dooley saying something off the wall. We have 2 brand new TVs that will stay brand new, cause they never get turned on. Occassionally on the weekend the History Channel will go on, but thats about it. Radio on the weekend is pretty bland, plenty of time for Phil.

Well that's the great thing about them. They sound like two parrots but the reason I listen to them is I agree with alot of the stuff that they say plus they are proactive which most talk shows are not. Well that's O.K. Bowl I know why you don't like them, because you'd rather hear you favorite afternoon talk show.

I agree with that, but he has a slightly different perspective than John and Ken. I actually have been enjoying the confrontations he has been having with various personalities.

As far as John and Ken, sometimes I need a break, cause the yelling and whining do get to be enough some times. However, I cant get enough of Bill Handel, hes brilliant in his own right.

Limbaugh or Beck
Hannity or Doyle
Mark Levin or Savage
Phil Hendrie (last-night's repeat)
Phil Hendrie (live)

NPR and NPR. we have a good affiliate in Buffalo and they pack a great cross section of everything that PRI/NPR has to offer...in fact i'd love to work at KCRW...

not to mention their National Press Club / City Club hours after 1 pm...usually stellar..

speaking of NPR - Robert Altman is directing a version of Garrison Keillor's 'A Prairie Home Companion'...which i like because of it's corny homliness - as well as liking the old style music they have people perform and the parody of old style programs.

I do like Randi Rhodes - and I do a lot of late night radio surfing since i usually crash at 6 am - there is a station out of Cleveland - 770 AM - that is primarily for truckers, and they talk about lotsa wacky things.

other than that, there are often quite a few gems if you can p/u good range...from late night rebroadcasts of old theatre to wierd college freaks with community station memeberships.

at the one i work at, i really enjoy the afternoon drive dude (Larry Fedoruk)...he has a really off kilter sense of humour that is quite enjoyable - and as a former standup he has a knack for threading these excellent meandering anecdotes. He's a very unique, insightful individual and I often wonder why he isn't in a bigger market.

www.3wk.com is an excellent internet radio station - an ideal one - they stream 2 great styles of music...the stuff you don't have crammed down your throat from payola-bred nu-metal/nu-rock pus.

and occasionally, if you can find a campus station that has an exceptional DJ with esoteric tastes and no penchant for dumb inside jokes, it can be quite enjoyable.
it's rare to hear one that isn't cluttered with "ummm" "errrrrr" "ummmm" "uhhuh".
Plus if yer gonna listen to someone play music for you, they really honestly better KNOW their music.
solidly.
that's because i'm a music snob, but because of that i expect nothing less.
and I also remember how much care i put into my shows (of various formats) in both campus and commercial internet radio.

I will also happily admit to listening to Savage, Limbaugh, etc. for the humour factor - not to mention there is a method to their madness - pure showbizness...and for that reason there is something to be learned from listening to different sources. On the other hand - and not simply because Leykis is hated by Phil, but i honestly despised the fellow long before I heard Phil slam him. He's cookie cutter fake macho B.S. - formulaic for the lowest common denominator...same with the Don and Mike show...the oh so typical morning zoo yawn hearn polluting radio from coast to coast.

bottom line though - there is plenty out there to cater to everyone's tastes - and i intend to keep my ear open for some of the other shows people have mentioned too...

Air America? I used to be able to hear that at night, when they had fresh D cells in the transmitter. lmao The NY affiliate I think it was. Not sure if that station went back to Latin music. I recall hearing O'Reilly say that the station got better ratings with that format instead of Franken & Co.
I listen to O'Reilly occasionally, Laura Ingraham (good use of sound effects and voice clips). Rush also. The best non-Phil radio show by far is The John Batchelor Show. Good info, not tainted by the marxist media. Unfortunately it's on during Phil's show in my area. 10pm-1am.
