:me3:
If you look at both the conservative mentality vs. the liberal mentality side by side. You can easily see how facsist liberals can be.
A lot of libs, like that digi-art gal that Russy knows, spend a lot of time expressing to the world how much of a patriot that they are and about how much they love the "real" America that no longer exsists (whatever that means). Yet they have little if anything tanglable at all to show for it.
For example, ever notice that there is an unusual amount of violence and "peace" rallies when a passer-by shouts out in disagreement.
It actually doesn't matter if you're a lib or a con. If you can't control yourself to the point where you want to hurt others for expressing different views than yours... then you are a psuedo Nazi. period.

Ya know what really sickens me about this clip, is that Adam Carolla (who I used to really dig) has become just another tragic hypocrite; he's done a completely typical Hollywood 180 - so pathetically/easily affected and molded by his Hollywood secret-handshake cult. After 9/11, he was on Stern and said some of the funniest things I've ever heard him say. One thing was something like "What happened to the good ol' days when the ay-rabs would just fly around on magic carpets?" Also, "We should, like, bomb Iowa... let 'em know we mean business... kinda like when a boxer punches his own face before the first-round bell rings." Stern's the same dumbass victim of his own media peer group. Both were pro-war after 9/11 and both have been blown in the other direction by the liberals who host the parties; and both are getting much harder to tolerate on account of it, too.

I remember when Carolla was Mr. Bircham the shop teacher on KROQ in L.A. He'd only show up once in a while to do a short routine and always hit gold on the annual K&B CD's. He's the guy no one can find a place for (like Dennis Miller), but high time he goes back to just being Bircham and shuttin' his filthy sewer about politics (after all, the bozo went to North Hollywood High; they're not exactly churnin' out doctors & lawyers there...). Or at least bring back The Man Show - as bad as he is, he was always naturally funnier than Kimmell (and Kimmell knows it).

Blair is seen over here as dead in the water now. He's nowhere near as much of a figure of fun as Dubya, but their closeness does him no favours. The Chancellor, Gordon Brown, is waiting in the wings to take over. Apparently, Blair & Brown made a deal back in the day. Brown agreed to back Blair for the Labour Party leadership on the understanding that Blair would step down after a while & let Brown have a go. Lots of people (Brown very much included, by all accounts) think that time is now. Personally, I don't think it will make much difference.
The problem with Gordon Brown, for me, is that every time I hear his name I think of the Stranglers song 'Golden Brown'. And I've got a kind of tourettes about it, because if somebody says 'Gordon Brown', I have to say 'texture like sun.' It's starting to annoy the crap out of me, let alone my friends & family. If he becomes Prime Minister, I'll have to get treatment.

The whole WMD thing is something that I feel like I can fault the Bush administration for. Not that I oppose the war - far from it - I just feel like it was a mistake to hinge the entire justification of going to war on those things. If you're gonna dilly-dally with the UN long enough that for Saddam to squirrell the majority of the WMDs away in Syria, you're better off just stressing the "Bush Doctrine". There was already a UN resolution against the Hussein regime (since the Clinton administration actually) and the Bush doctrine plainly stated that state sponsors of terrorism would be targetted as enemies. There's the justification - cased closed, forward march. Of course, there were WMD's - we've found several hundred already - but, don't base the whole war on it. When Japan attacked us, we took the fight to Japan AND Germany and the world is better off for it.

Claiming the administration and both parties hinged the entire justification of going to war on WMD is a rhetorical tautology that has grown tiresome from word go. Everybody knows there were multitudes of reasons but WMD gets the most play so the lowest common denomenator chants without end that it was the only justification offered. GD OMG WTF.

Good point - I guess I should blame the media more since they were the ones re-playing it every night. Still, my issue is - why wasn't the already in-place resolution against Hussein and the "Bush Doctrine" not enough? Once the media and pundits got rolling with the whole WMD thing, why not shift focus to the more reasonable justifications? Despite it's leanings, the media can be manipulated. And, again, if you say you're going to go in and get the damn WMD's, don't dick around with the UN long enough for the enemy to clear out a lot of the stockpiles.

I like it when a decent British film comes along, that doesn't resort to cliches every two seconds, such as reminding the Yank audience it's set in London by showing a shot of the Houses Of Parliament or the London Eye. Ann Coulter
There aren't many of those. But off the top of my head, I'd recommend Performance (Gangster, but a refreshing twist on it) The Long Good Friday (Gangster, but old school & believable), Sean Of The Dead & Dog Soldiers.
I read a review of Dog Soldiers that made me laugh. Some American complained that he couldn't tell the characters apart because their Limey accents all sounded the same. The characters couldn't have had more different accents. there was a Cockney, a Geordie, a Scot, a Welshman etc etc. Jeez. that'd be like me complaining I couldnt tell the difference between Russy & a dude from New Jersey.

I've never seen it. It was called The 51st State over here. Having a famous Yank in a Brit flick is a bit of a cliche as well, although I find it interesting to watch.
When I saw the trailers for this, I thought of the crap arse Danny Cannon film 'The Young Americans', which had Harvey Keitel in it. I love Harvey, but he's been in some real shit, & this is one of 'em.
Cannon then went on to cock up Judge Dredd, which he should be skinned alive for & I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. Jesus, even for it's genre that movie blows orangutan. Way to waste Jack Black, imbecile. But it's good to know we've got a young Michael Winner in the making.
Cannon went on to be one of the leading lights of CSI, which I tried to get into, but gave up. God, I thought it sucked arse.
Yanks in Brit stuff aren't all bad though. There is a Denzel film called For Queen & Country from back when he wasn't a superstar. He played a Brit soldier coming home from the Falklands. His accent was pretty good & it's a decent film.
