You just saying they blow because you have never heard them before.

Hmmm... well, I have been listening to both of them since the early 1990's and I say they both blow. But, of course, we are all entitled to our own, unique, individual, and respected opinions.
By the way, very clever wording of the poll!

I think they're both okay, but not running out to buy any of their albums. Eddie Vedder's voice just got old to me and it didn't help that 1,000 bands took off with lead singers that sound just like him. I withhold a vote, but would listen to Tool if someone offered me a free CD.

We play both at the station I work at, and I'm a drummer and a HUGE Danny Carey fan.
That said, TOOL!
HOWEVER: 10,000 Days is a DUMB name. Why? Because it's too close to those :gay: 's in Disturbed and their "10,000 Fists" (*DOWN THERE*)

When people say a band's no good, they usually just mean they don't like their music and aren't commenting on talent. You say Tool blows. Are you just not a fan of their music, or are you saying there's no talent there?

I understand why people who don't like metal think bands like Tool are metal, but to me they're not. Too many bands get lumped into that category just because the guitars are heavy.

I am going home from Iraq in late July, but I am counting down the days until the Tool CD comes out.

I'm guessing that they just don't like that type of music. For example, if I was a :gay: I would probably think greenday was the coolest band in the world.

Nowadays, according to Greengay, all you have to do to become rich and popular is hold your tounge and say "Bush Sucks! Bush Sucks!" over 2 minutes of guitar and drums.

No kidding, I never liked them. However most people back then, saw them as something new and exciting. I, on the other hand, saw them as more like a two pimples on the inside of each butt cheek, rubbing up against one another.

I know, back when they first came along, people just couldn't stop talking about them. I just didn't get it. I still don't. Then again, I'm not fond of baby's diapers.

I'm not a huge metal fan so I beg forgiveness for this question- but how come System of a Down gets torn a new one in another thread, but no one here seems to bag on Pearl Jam or Tool?
To be fair, I don't like any of these bands, but I'm curious as to why some draw so much ire and others don't.

Both is different manners. However, Tool's last 2 albums have been much stronger than anything Pearl Jam has done in the past 8 years.
