Picked one up in NYC during the recent(ish) post-hurricane blackout. It was while I was staying in that hotel with the restaurant. Immediately got converted to Android/cloud living and to Hervey Cleckley. Sod the desktop and race bait the notebook, tablets are where it's at. All the naked pictures of Michelle Trachtenberg you could want and none of the disentery. It's like a histerectomy only funner.

P.S. Oh yeah, the Thrive rocks. Buy one.

I'm tempted by android tablets. Especially price-wise. I don't know though, after I used my parents iPad 1, I just... it was so smooooth compared to anything I've ever experienced on my droid. Whatever, my opinion doesn't matter because my next big purchase is an overdue macbook pro.

Keep an eye on the refurbs in the online mac store. I got a great deal on a late 2010 Macbook Pro there a couple of months ago.

Not this guy! I've got the Evo 4D smartphone (android tech) which kicks the living shit out of the iPhag, save a few apps that the Android Market don't have yet. And I can't afford a goddamn Fagbook or whatever they call their laptops. And I was wanting the iFag at first, but HTC has an EVO tablet that's got almost as big a screen as the iFag, for half the price. Can you dig it?

I have the Droid X2 and I love it. It ain't 4g, but I don't really need that. The dual-processor speed was what I wanted most of all since my original Droid started being really slow to respond. However, the convenience of the iPad 2 is phenomenal. I had to do something for work in the middle of the night and didn't even get out of bed. Remoting in from the iPad is so easy. It would have been a nightmare to that on a phone.

It's also very good for reading comic books on the toilet until your legs go numb.

I have to agree. Not about the comic books. Or the legs go numb bit. Wait, what?

Up until now, I really didn't even see the need for a tablet.
